Excellent work! Tim I’m very impressed your remembered the whole harmonica solo. That’s the way to go!
I would love to listen to you improvising on a jazz tune or a blues.
Hello Michael, Welcome to Harmonica Studio! Thanks for sharing your music background. Once you get familiar with the site don’t hesitate to post a video of a song or an exercise that you’re working on and I’ll get back with feedbacks on your playing.
Welcome back to Harmonica Studio! You have asked me about a harmonica with a wider range. I guess it could be a 14 or 16 hole… I suggest trying either the new Hohner Super 64 Performance or the Suzuki SCX 64 you’ll be not disappointed. I’m looking forward hearing your playing ! feel free to post a video in Video Exchange.
Yes, if you have trouble playing in tune on the low draw notes such as on hole 1, 2 and 3 or high notes from 8 and up.
1) Relax your mind and body
2) Drop your jaw a little bit which will create a larger mouth cavity and will let the air coming in without obstruction
3) Place your tongue down against your lower teeth
4) Breath in gently
We are starting the Monthly Challenge with a Lester Young’solo on “Foolin’ Myself”. Feel free to post your version below!
The complete track is uploaded below. You can listen to the solo from 0:15 to 0:56
Here is my version without harmonica tabs:
Thank you for joining ! Perhaps you can try breathing softer, make sure your tongue is down in your mouth against the teeth so the air flow can come in freely. Also you can drop the jaw slightly which will create a larger mouth cavity.
